Is Granite Springs Lodge open year-round?

Yes, we are a year-round destination.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, pets are allowed on property. We have 2 pet friendly cabins and kennels available to keep your furry friends safe. Pets are not allowed inside the Event Center, Villas, Main Lodge, Cottage, and select cabins.

Is Granite Springs Lodge handicap accessible?

The Event Center, Main Lodge dining room, and Villa #2 are handicap accessible.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Check, Cash, and Credit/Debit cards (3% processing fee for all cards).

Is a deposit required?

A security deposit of $500 is required to rent the Event Center, $500 for the Main Lodge, $500 for the Cottage, $500 for the Villas and $500 for all cabins. No security deposit is required to rent individual cabins or villas. Once deposit and signed contract is received, the reservation gets put in the books.

Can I book online?

No, please call Granite Springs Lodge at (605)239-4404 for pricing or to make a reservation.

Is there a minimum night stay?

Renting the Main Lodge and Cottage from Memorial Day until the end of the year requires a 3-night minimum reservation. The cabins and villas do not have a minimum night stay.

How many people can the property sleep?

The entire property can sleep 115 guests. Cottage-25 Main Lodge -40 Cabins-28 Villas-16 Camping- 6

Does Granite Springs Lodge have Wi-fi?

Every building has access to wi-fi and is free of charge.

Are towels and linens provided?

Yes, each room is equipped with fresh clean bedding and an adequate number of towels for each guest.

Where are hairdryers located?

Hairdryers are placed in the bathrooms of: Villa #1, the Cottage’s master bedroom, and the Main Lodge upstairs bathroom.

Is my group going to be the only guests staying on property?

You will be the only guests if you rent the entire property, otherwise the property may be rented by different parties.

What time is Check In and Check Out?

Guests can check into lodging at 3:00p.m. and must be checked out by 11a.m. Upon checking out, please ensure you have completed the items on the checkout list prior to leaving. Guests do not need to strip beds.

Check in for the Event Center is 8:00a.m. and check out is 12:00a.m.

How many people can the Event Center hold?

The Event Center can entertain 299 guests with outdoor seating available for an additional 100 guests.

Is a shuttle service provided?

A shuttle is available to transport guests to and from Mitchell that are attending an event held at the Event Center.

What colors of linens are available for my event?

Black, white, and ivory are the options included in your package.

Are there highchairs/boosters for children?

The Event Center has 3 highchairs and 1 booster in the kitchen closet. The Main Lodge has 2 highchairs and 1 booster in the dining room. The Cottage has 1 highchair and 1 booster in the garage and entry way closet.

Can I bring my own food and beverages?

Yes. We also have grills available for guest use, an industrial kitchen in the Main Lodge, and a list of recommended caterers.

Does Granite Springs Lodge have camping spots?

We have 6 camping spots available only for overflow of existing guests. 5 are in front of the Main Lodge and 1 next to the Cottage. They are 30-amp electrical hookups with no water/sewer hookups.

Is there a washer and dryer on site for guest use?

The Main Lodge master suite has a washer and dryer unit, as well as the Cottage entry way.

What activities are there to do while staying at Granite Springs Lodge?

Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, sand volleyball, horseshoes, yard games, nature trails, and campfires provide endless opportunities for fun with your friends and family.

Is firewood available to buy?

Firewood can be purchased for $10/bundle by contacting a Granite Springs staff member. The beach, Cottage, and Main Lodge all have firepits. The Villas have a gas firepit.

Can anyone use the beach and lake?

Only Granite Spring’s guests can enjoy the beach and lake.

Is there a rental fee for kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or life jackets?

No, our beach gear is free for our guests. Life jackets are mandatory for anyone swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or paddle boarding in the lake.

What types of fish are in the lake?

Walleye, bass, trout, crappie, blue gill, and northern pike.

Do I need to bring my own fishing equipment?

You are more than welcome to bring your own fishing equipment. However, for your convenience, Granite Springs rents fishing poles for $20/pole.

Can I bring an ATV, UTV, or golf cart?

For the safety of our guests, we do not allow the use of any ATV’s, UTV’s, or golf carts by our guests.

Where is the nearest gas station?

Cenex (CHS) and Friendly’s are in Alexandria, 1-2 miles from Granite Springs Lodge.

Where is the nearest grocery store?

Total Stop is 8 miles from Granite Springs Lodge in Emery. Walmart, County Fair, and Coborn’s are all located in Mitchell approximately 15 miles from Granite Springs Lodge.

Where is the nearest restaurant?

RJ’s Sport Bar and Grill is in Alexandria, 1-2 miles from Granite Springs Lodge.

Where is the nearest bar?

Butch’s Tavern and RJ’s Sport Bar and Grill are in Alexandria, 1-2 miles from Granite Springs Lodge.

Where is the nearest airport?

Sioux Falls Regional Airport is located 59 miles east of Granite Springs Lodge. Mitchell Municipal Airport is located 22 miles northwest of Granite Springs Lodge.

What are local attractions?

The World’s Only Corn Palace, Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village, McGovern Legacy Museum, Village Bowl, Luxury 5 Cinemas, and Starlite Drive-In Theatre are just a few of the local attractions.

Is a fishing license required?

No, a fishing license is not required because Granite Spring’s lake is “catch & release” only.
